October 27, 2024 - Foliage Flight Eastern Shore

It's ridiculous how good the weather has been the last two weeks or so -- sunny, warm, without a cloud in the sky -- so I took advantage and did a foliage flight today.
Ironically, the forest on the east side of Essex Skypark typically has the best color around, so here's a picture.

| The next best foliage area is south, across the Back River at the Black Marsh Natural Area. |

| Talisman Farm used to have three 2,000 grass runways in a triangular pattern. They are long gone though. Now you would never know they were there. The farm and airport were sold sometime around 2008. I should have bought it. The asking price was a little high, though: $19 million. |
